Kidim ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your family's privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Kidim platform at kidim.bywillo.ai and any associated mobile applications (collectively, the "Service").

Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.

1. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Kidim is designed for children ages 5 to 14, and we take the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) seriously. For users under 13, additional protections apply as described below.

• Parental consent required. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Parents create the account and set up child profiles — children do not register themselves.
• What we collect from children. We collect only the information necessary to operate the Service: a display name chosen by the parent, age range, and the text of chat conversations.
• No advertising to children. We do not serve behavioral advertising to child users and do not sell, rent, or share children's personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
• Parental rights. Parents may review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us at privacy@kidim.ai. We will respond within 30 days.

2. Information We Collect

From Parents / Account Holders

• Account information: Name, email address, and password when you register.
• Billing information: Payment card details, collected and processed securely by Stripe. Kidim never stores full card numbers.
• Profile information: Child display names, age ranges, and any content filter preferences you configure.
• Communications: Any messages you send to our support team.

From Children (via the Chat Interface)

• Text of chat conversations with Kidim's AI — used solely to generate responses and to populate the parent dashboard.
• Chat mode selections (Homework Help, Creative Stories, etc.).

Automatically Collected

• Device type, operating system, and browser type.
• IP address (used for fraud prevention; not shared with child-profile data).
• Usage data such as pages visited, features used, and session duration — collected in aggregate for product improvement.

3. How We Use Information

• To provide, operate, and improve the Kidim Service.
• To generate AI responses to child chat messages.
• To power the parent dashboard (conversation history, safety alerts).
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, weekly digest, billing receipts).
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety violations.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use children's conversation data to train AI models, sell it to advertisers, or share it with third parties except as described in Section 4.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf (payment processing via Stripe; cloud infrastructure; email delivery). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
• AI model providers — conversation text is sent to our AI model provider to generate responses. This provider does not retain conversation data beyond the current session for training purposes.
• Law enforcement when required by law, or to protect the safety of a child or the public.
• Business transfers — in the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred; we will notify you in advance.

5. Data Retention

• Free plan: conversation history is retained for 14 days.
• Family plan: conversation history is retained for 30 days.
• Family Pro plan: conversation history is retained indefinitely until the parent deletes it or cancels.
• Account data is retained until you delete your account. Upon deletion, personal data is purged within 30 days and backups within 90 days.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We will notify you promptly if a breach affects your data.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your logged-in session. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from logging in.

8. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, or to opt out of certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@kidim.ai. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice on the Service at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
